Katie Santo
Owner and President
Katie is a digital designer and content strategist living in Coastal Carolina and New York. She has a passion for creativity and nearly 20 years of experience working in digital web design, user experience, and communication strategy. In addition to her client work, Katie also donates her time to local nonprofits including the Seaside Arts Council, where is currently serves as a member of their board of directors, and Morehead City Makos Baseball, where she manages communication strategy for the MHC Makos.
Before founding Keight D Designs, Katie spent most of her career in roles that specialize in "other duties as assigned" which has helped her grow into an incredibly well-rounded strategist. She has experience working as a training facilitator and instructional designer, developing and facilitating training sessions on both technical and leadership skills.
As a member of an internal design consultancy team at a prestigious private university, Katie has also created and facilitated all training for web content authors, email marketing professionals, and other digital content strategists. This included UX and content strategy sessions as well as assisting web professionals on how best to approach their content. She also developed award-winning technical documentation, training materials, and accompanying certification course on digital accessibility.
Prior to her tenure in higher education and content strategy, Katie also worked for many years leading the hiring and onboarding process for new employees in the mid-Atlantic region of one of the most admired Fortune 100 companies in the world. Her skillset includes website development, content strategy, accessibility reviews, train the trainer sessions, communication strategy, and more... just ask!
Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in organizational management from the George Washington University. She also has a Master of Arts in Digital Media Design for Learning from New York University where she earned an award for her thesis design project focused on an innovative app to support self-directed, informal learning for employees.
